Singer and dubbing artist Chinmayi Sripaada has spoken out against online abuse directed at her family after social media trolls allegedly targeted her filmmaker and actor husband. Rahul Ravindraand his three-year-old twins. The reaction followed Rahul’s comments on the alleged murder case involving Ketan Agarwal and his fiancee Siya Goyal. While Rahul quit X (formerly Twitter), Chinmayi has continued to address the issue through social media, condemning the abusive messages.

Chinmayi says the trolls targeted her son

In a seven-minute video posted on Twitter (X), Chinmayi said that Rahul Ravindran decided to leave the platform after coming across a post that wished his son dead. She said, “Rahul’s tolerance reached a breaking point the moment he saw this particular tweet, which said he would pray for my son’s death. And he was calling more people in his bhajana mandali to wish my son dead. This was only because they were not able to control their emotions or their anger.“He also spoke about the culture of rape, misogyny, sexual harassment and the rise of hate online, saying that subjecting children to such attacks crossed all lines. He added: “If you ever abuse my children, I will wish nothing but horror, a very long life and a horrible life.”

Chinmayi shared screenshots as the harassment continued

Chinmayi later shared screenshots of the messages she said were sent by trolls targeting her family. In her post, she wrote that some Telugu social media users had wished her children dead because they considered her “anti-feminist” and opposed to women speaking out. She also said that she and Rahul are parents to three-year-old twins and alleged that online groups continued to spread hate against their children. Chinmayi further said that those who encourage such behavior should not be supported on social media.
