Nissan Tekton global reveal tomorrow: Everything you need to know

Nissan India will launch the new Nissan Tekton SUV tomorrow, July 8, 2026. Nissan is calling the new Tekton the “Baby Patrol,” and it’s expected to inherit some Patrol-inspired styling elements, including the grille, headlights and other exterior details. The upcoming model shares its platform with the new Renault Duster and will be produced at Renault’s plant in Tamil Nadu. Ahead of the official reveal, let’s take a look at everything we know so far.

Nissan Techton

The new Nissan Tekton will be a key product for Nissan India. The price is expected to be between Rs 10 lakh and Rs 18 lakh (ex-showroom). The SUV will compete with Renault Duster, Tata Sierra, Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Honda Elevate, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Toyota city cruiser Hyryder and others.In terms of design, the upcoming SUV will feature a wide front grille with a red horizontal strip and an illuminated Nissan logo in the center. The SUV also features full-width LED DRL signatures connected to the headlight units, which contain L-shaped lighting elements. Other exterior highlights include a sculpted bonnet with prominent character lines, a central bonnet scoop and Tekton badging. At the rear, the SUV will feature a roof spoiler, sloping windshield, C-joint taillights and a large bumper. In terms of dimensions, the SUV is expected to be similar to the new Renault Duster, with a length of 4,345 mm, a width of 1,815 mm, a height of 1,703 mm and a wheelbase of 2,657 mm.Tekton is expected to share its engine options with the new Duster. 1.0-liter 3-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine with 100 PS and 160 nm of torque, mated to a 6-speed manual transmission. The other engine is a 1.3-liter 4-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine with 163 hp and 280 Nm of torque, mated to a 6-speed DCT or 6-speed manual transmission. There’s also a larger 1.8-liter hybrid gasoline engine with 109 hp, paired with a 49 hp electric motor and a 20 hp Hybrid Starter Generator (HSG), paired with a 1.4 kWh (280V) battery. Together, this configuration provides a combined system output of 160 hp and 172 Nm.Expected features include a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, panoramic sunroof, wireless phone charger, dual-zone climate control, power tailgate, 6-way power ventilated front seats, 48-color ambient lighting, keyless entry with push-button start/stop, multi-drive modes and more.
