Star ‘Raaka’ Allu Arjun made a virtual appearance before the Nampally Criminal Court on Monday, July 6, 2026 in connection with the tragic Sandhya Theater stampede case. The legal proceedings stem from a chaotic crowd surge during the screening of his blockbuster film Pushpa: The Rule in Hyderabad, which tragically led to the death of a 35-year-old woman, Revathi, and seriously injured her young son. The Chikkadpally police filed a charge sheet against 23 people and officially named the National Award winning actor as accused number 11; the management of the theater includes defendants 1 to 10.

According to an IANS report, Allu Arjun attended the hearing via video conference. The legal team also stated that two other defendants were absent and would file absence petitions. After hearing the case, the court adjourned the case to July 29.

What was the stampede incident?

For the uninitiated, there was a stampede at the Sandhya Theater where a massive crowd gathered to watch the actor, resulting in the death of 35-year-old Revathi and serious injuries to her eight-year-old son. Earlier on June 22, the Nampally Criminal Court had adjourned the hearing till July 6 after some of the accused failed to appear before the Magistrate. During this hearing, Allu Arjun was a virtual no-show and his lawyer filed an absence petition on his behalf.

The police filed a charge sheet

Chikkadpally police named Allu Arjun as accused number 11 in the case. The management of Sandhya Theater has been listed as accused number 1 to 10. The Nampally court summoned 19 accused. The police also filed a complaint against 23 people in connection with the events. After the tragedy, financial support was announced for the victim’s family. Film producer Hello Aravind said that Rs 2 crore would be given to help Revathi’s family.
