Greenwood High students earn excellent grades in IBDP 2026; two seem to be the highest in the world

New Delhi: Two students of Greenwood High International School have scored 45 points in the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program (IBDP) examination held in May 2026, placing them among the best in the world, according to the results announced by the school.The two students, Amisha Sharma and Varun Vasudevan Iyer, scored 45 points in the internationally recognized diploma program.Amisha Sharma, outgoing school captain, will pursue Public Policy and Data Science at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, while Varun Vasudevan Iyer, outgoing vice captain, will study Mathematics at the University of California, Berkeley.Three other students – Anvita Reddy Guddeti, Nidhi Mittal and Sanay Sridhar – scored 44 points, while seven students scored 43 points. These are Aahana Jain, Aryan Dhir, Inesh Dora Kanati, Nakshatra Ganesh, Sahana Arun Kuttuva, Sritanvi Karthik and Vipran Vasan.According to the school, 36% of the IBDP Class of 2026 scored 40 points or higher.The school also said that members of the graduating class have received requests from universities including Dartmouth College, Brown University, Carnegie Mellon University, University of California, Berkeley, Johns Hopkins University, University of Southern California, University of California, Los Angeles, London School of Economics and Political Science, Imperial College London, Royal College London, Bocconile University of Ireland College and the National Institute of Design.The organization said the students will collectively be awarded over USD 8 million in scholarships, in recognition of excellence in academics, leadership, talent and service.Reflecting on her results, Amisha Sharma thanked her family, teachers and school community for supporting her during her two years of IB.Varun Vasudevan Iyer said that his preparation focuses on strengthening conceptual understanding, refining the analysis and analyzing the performance after trying to overcome the weaknesses.Commenting on the results, Mr. Niru Agarwal, Vice-Chairman and Principal of Greenwood High International School, said that this achievement reflects the school’s progress, professional guidance and the hard work of students throughout the diploma period.The International Baccalaureate Diploma Program is a two-year pre-university qualification offered to students between the ages of 16 and 19 and recognized by leading institutions around the world. The maximum possible score in this program is 45 points.
