After more than three years of delay, Diljit Dosanjh‘Satluj’ has finally hit the OTT streaming platforms. After its release, the famous singer and actor got emotional and reflected on the hurdles they faced in getting the film approved and released. ‘Satluj’, earlier titled ‘Punjab ’95’, tells the story of human rights activist Jaswant Singh Khalra.

On his Instagram account, the actor-singer spoke about the release of ‘Satluj’ and paid tribute to activist Jaswant Singh Khalra. He shared a clip from the film itself and wrote an emotional caption, sharing that, “Finally after 4 years of struggle… SATLUJ #Panjab95 is released on @zee5 Shaheed Jaswant Singh Khalra Ji Nu Lakh Lakh Parnaam.”He further wrote, “Mai Aksar Team Nu Pushda Rehnda C Ke Eh Film Kadey v Ni Augi? About ‘Satluj’

The story of ‘Satluj’ is based on the real life of human rights activist Jaswant Singh Khalra. Along with Dosanjh, who plays the lead role, the film also stars Arjun Rampal, Suvinder Vicky, Jagjeet Sandhu and Geetika Vidya Ohlyan. It is based on how Jaswant Singh Khalra was involved in the investigation of what had happened to about 25,000 people who had been marked as missing during the era of the Punjab insurgency.
