BSUSC Assistant Professor recruitment 2026: Bihar State University Service Commission (BSUSC) has released notification for the recruitment of 3,687 Assistant Professor (Contractual Faculty). Online application process has started through HED Bihar Samarth website and will be open till July 15, 2026. Candidates can submit their applications without paying any fee.The recruitment drive seeks to fill the technical posts in 10 government universities and 211 newly established Rajkiya Degree Colleges in Bihar. Applications are accepted through HED Bihar Samarth portal. Enrollment covers six subjects in the arts and humanities.Jobs advertised based on educationBSUSC has introduced careers in English, History, Hindi, Economics, Political Science and Sociology. English has the highest number of posts with 674 posts, followed by History with 662 posts and Hindi with 625 posts. Economics has 597 posts, while Political Science has 596 posts. Sociology has 533 posts, taking the number of advertised posts to 3,687. Eligibility requirements for applicantsCandidates must have a Master’s degree in the relevant subject with 55 percent marks. The minimum marks are changed to 50 percent for SC, ST, BC, EBC and PwD candidates for Bihar.Candidates must also have UGC NET, CSIR NET or Bihar SET. Candidates awarded PhD under UGC 2009 or 2016 Regulations are exempted from NET requirements.
The minimum age of the applicants is 21 years, while the upper age limit is 43 years as on August 1, 2026. Age relaxation will be applied to those who belong to the reserved categories as per the recruitment rules.The selection process is the recruitment processThe selection process will consist of academic evaluation and interview-cum-presentation. The academic qualification will carry 88 marks, while the interview-cum-presentation will count for the remaining 12 marks.According to the recruitment schedule, interviews will be held from July 20, 2026 to July 27, 2026. The merit list should be released on July 29, 2026.
