Satyadev’s latest release ‘Rao Bahadur’ has made its theatrical debut with a steady opening at the box office.The psychological drama collected Rs 1.40 crore at the net collections in India on the first day, according to Sacnilk. The film opened on Friday and registered opening day earnings of 883 shows across the country.Written, directed and edited by Venkatesh Maha, Rao Bahadur stars Satyadev in the lead role. The film also features Vikas Muppala and Deepa Thomas in key roles.

Global gross crosses Rs 3 crore

Along with its domestic earnings, ‘Rao Bahadur’ collected Rs 1.50 crore in overseas gross collections on its opening day.This takes the film’s worldwide gross to Rs 3.11 crore after Day 1. Meanwhile, its gross collection in India stands at Rs 1.61 crore, while its total India nett remains at Rs 1.40 crore.

Night shows record the best occupancy

The Telugu version of ‘Rao Bahadur’ recorded an overall occupancy of 27.65% on its opening day.The film started the day with 19.00% occupancy during morning shows. The figure rose to 23.08% in the afternoon and rose further to 25.46% during the afternoon. The highest participation occurred during the evening shows, where the occupancy reached 38.08%.Andhra Pradesh and Telangana dominated the box office performance of the film on Day 1. The two states together generated Rs 1.45 crore in gross collections.Karnataka followed with Rs 13 lakhs while Tamil Nadu contributed Rs 2 lakhs. The rest of the regions together added Rs 1 lakh, taking the film’s total Indian gross to Rs 1.61 crore.

‘Rao Bahadur’ follows the story of a man who belongs to the descendants of a once prominent royal family. Satyadev plays the central character, whose life is shaped by the burden of his family’s fading legacy and an increasingly unstable state of mind.Reviewing the film, ETimes wrote, “Rao Bahadur feels less like a conventional thriller and more like an emotional puzzle built around memory, pain and identity.
