JKBOPEE has started the third round of counselling, or mop-up counselling, for admission to BE and BTech courses through JKCET 2026. The online counseling process started on July 3 and will be available till July 5, 2026 (midnight). This round gives another chance to the qualified candidates to fill the remaining places in the second round.This round has been set up to fill up the vacant seats due to non-joining, resignation, surrender of seats, and non-availability of seats after the second round of counseling in government and private technical colleges in Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory.
Mop-up round seeks to fill vacant engineer seats
According to the information provided by JKBOPEE, the latest advisory has been issued after the colleges reported about the decrease in enrollments through the Board’s website. Available seats also include those that have become vacant following candidates not joining the schools they were offered or withdrawing their admissions.The board has advised eligible candidates to participate within the stipulated time, as no applications will be entertained after the counseling is closed.
Who can participate in JKCET round 3 advice ?
JKBOPEE has defined the groups of people who are eligible to participate in the third round of counseling. Candidates who are not allotted any seat in the first or second round can participate in the mop-up process. Those who secured a seat in the preliminary rounds and successfully entered their allotted school are also eligible to participate in promotion, subject to counseling rules and availability of seats.Candidates who were offered a seat in the first phase but did not join, and those who left the school to which they were assigned before the last day of joining the first phase, are also allowed to participate in the third phase of studies with existing institutions.
Restrictions on those who do not join the second phase
The board, however, has imposed some restrictions on candidates who have not accepted their second round.Candidates who have been allotted a seat in the second term but failed to join the allotted institution will not be allowed to opt for the same course in the same institution in the third term. However, they remain eligible to compete for other courses within the same institution as well as all courses offered by other participating institutions, subject to seat availability.Likewise, applicants who were denied admission before the last day they were admitted to the second session will also be denied admission to the same course at the same school during this period. However, they may apply for different courses at the same school or courses offered by other participating colleges where seats remain.

The online recruitment and seat allotment process will continue till the midnight of July 5, 2026.
