Shraddha KapoorThe upcoming film ‘Eetha’ has put its recent title controversy behind it. Legendary artist Lavani Vitthabai Narayangaonkar’s family reportedly withdrew their objection after the director Laxman Utekar explained the choice of the name Eetha. The family was convinced by the clarification and settled the matter amicably. Shraddha Kapoor’s film title row was resolved after the director’s clarification
The Eetha title dispute seems to have died down after director Laxman Utekar spoke to the family of legendary artiste Lavani Vitthabai Narayangaonkar. Vitthabai’s grandson Mohit Narayangaonkar had earlier objected to the name, arguing that the film should have been titled Vittha instead of Eetha. He has since said he is satisfied with the filmmaker’s clarification on the matter.
Shraddha Kapoor’s ‘Eetha’ pleases Vitthabai’s family
In a conversation with NDTV, Mohit said, “Yes, absolutely, we are satisfied. He spoke to us over the phone. We had asked for the title of the film to be changed, but he explained that in rural areas, Vitthabai was earlier known as ‘Eetha’. That’s why they chose that title for the film. Now we have no problem.” He also spoke positively about how the film portrays the community of Tamasha and Lavani, adding, “The film has been made in a very positive way. It presents the community of Tamasha and Lavani in a very positive way. We are satisfied. There is no problem.”
Shraddha Kapoor to visit Narayangaon before release
Mohit also shared that Shraddha and the film’s team will visit Narayangaon before the release of Eetha on August 28. Clarifying whether the visit will take place after the film hits theatres, he said: “No, not after the release. Before the release.” He further mentioned that he had asked the makers to hold the film’s first release in Narayangaon, considered Tamasha’s pilgrimage site, and revealed that Laxman Utekar responded positively, assuring him that the entire team would make the trip to the village.
