Kunal Kemmu talks about the shooting of ‘Golmaal 5’
After a recent photo shared by the ‘Golmaal’ team sent fans into a tizzy, Kunal Kemmu confirmed that the shooting of the next installment of the franchise is underway. Reuniting with his fellow cast members has brought back a wave of nostalgia, he said. In an interview with India Today, he shared, “We’re still making this film. We’ve been shooting for it. It’s been a lot of fun meeting everyone and getting back to the characters we played 7-8 years ago and even before that. As the teaser said, they’ve been doing it for 20 years; I joined the third one, but it’s really fun to be on that set.”The actor further said, “And I really hope that it translates into something that people also enjoy so much because I know it’s probably one of the most loved franchises in the Hindi film industry. We all hope that it lives up to the standards of the fans.”Kunal joined the franchise with ‘Golmaal 3’ in 2010 and has remained a key member of the film series ever since.
‘Madgaon Express 2nd update
During the conversation, Kunal also had good news for fans who were eagerly waiting for a follow-up to his directorial debut in 2024, ‘Madgaon Express’. Confirming that work on the sequel has already begun, he said: “I’m aware that fans are asking for it. And yes, it’s in the works. I’ve actually written it. But there’s time.”

Addressing questions about his acting career after getting into directing, Kunal said, “I think initially there were a few people who asked me, ‘Are you going to act now?’ I said of course this is my first love, and always will be. But I think they know now, and I did something like ‘Single Papa’ after ‘Madgaon Express’, and then I’ve also jumped into my next film ‘Vibe’. I’m doing this now (“Alliance”), so yeah, and I think if the message isn’t there, I’m just saying, ‘I’m still acting guys’!”
