The Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) has issued important updates to the candidates for the Under Graduate Common Entrance Test (UGCET) 2026 counseling. The officials have explained that the aspirants who applied to the college with their preferred college before the last date will get another chance after the mock seat allotment results are announced.According to KEA, the deadline for registration of interests, also known as the entry process, has ended. However, candidates who missed the last date need not worry, as they will be allowed to enter their options in the next login screen after the mock allotment results are declared.
KEA provides details on entry options
In an official statement, H. Prasanna, IAS, Director General of KEA, said that candidates who have not sent their preferences will be able to do so after the publication of the mock seat allotment results.The government has advised candidates to use this time to prepare a list of their preferred colleges and courses so that they can complete the entry process quickly when the next window opens.
Optional changes will also be allowed
KEA has also confirmed that after the first round of mock seat allocation, candidates will be given the opportunity to:
- Enter the new college and educational options.
- Change options that have already been sent.
- Submit options if they haven’t written preferences first.
This means that both those who wish to change their selection and those who missed the deadline will be able to participate in the entry process.
What candidates should do now
Candidates are advised to check the KEA website regularly to update the schedule given in mock and re-open the login window.KEA has assured candidates that they will get another chance to finalize or change their preferences, and there is no need to worry if they are unable to submit their options before the deadline.
