Abhishek Bachchan debuted with JP Dutta’s ‘Refugee’ in 2000, along with kareena kapoor Khan. Since then, the actor has come a long way, from giving back-to-back flops to making a blockbuster film like ‘Guru’. Since the last few years, there has been a major shift in terms of Bachchan’s choices and how he is perceived. Be it ‘Breathe: Into The Shadows’ or ‘Ghoomer’, ‘I Want To Talk’ or ‘Dasvi’. As Abhishek completes 26 years in the industry today, when asked about the change in him as an actor, he said in an interview to ETimes, “The only thing that has changed is that I am more comfortable. I think when I started, there was a bit of discomfort. But now I feel more comfortable in front of the camera.” He added: “When you’re just yourself and you’re comfortable in your own skin, that gives you clarity about the decisions you have to make. I’m very clear today, or I would say in the last five or seven years, what I don’t want to do at that time. Initially in your career there’s so much excitement, there’s so much insecurity about Kaam Milega, whatever you want.” Abhishek said that he is very clear about the kind of work he wants to do today. “I’m clear at that moment, at that moment I don’t want to do this. That means I definitely want to do this. So there’s a lot more conviction in that and that comes from a certain maturity and calmness. I think that helps in your work as well. We’re not everywhere anymore, I’d like to believe.” When asked further about not having any sense of insecurity, he said, “I’ve never been an insecure actor in terms of yeh kya kar raha hai. Insecure about my abilities, yes. I think every actor is… about, ‘Will I be able to do this?'” Abhishek also added that the responsibility of how an actor acts rests with the director. During this throwback interview, the actor was also joined by Shoojit Sircar and when asked if he thought Abhishek did justice to his role in ‘I Want To Talk’, the actor said, “That’s a tricky one, you can’t ask him that.” He added, “You can’t ask him that, because he accepted the shot. It’s not me. The actors get the bricks but it’s always the director’s fault (laughs). He’s the person who decides if that’s good enough.” On the work front, Abhishek is currently shooting Shah Rukh Khanthe ‘king’ The actor was recently spotted at the airport Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and daughter Aaradhya while leaving the city.
