His previous work, ‘The Witch’, featured Anya Taylor-Joy and Ralph Ineson in a terrifying exploration of American colonial anxieties and supernatural dread.According to Variety, in 2019 Eggers directed ‘The Lighthouse,’ a psychological horror film starring Robert Pattinson and Willem Dafoe, which garnered critical acclaim for its atmospheric cinematography and haunting narrative. His knack for taking historical events and adding that extra layer of visceral terror has made him one of the most coveted filmmakers working in horror today.
