DU has announced 1,370 ECA seats for UG admissions: Here’s how to apply
Delhi University has announced 1,370 seats for undergraduates under the additional education section (ECA) for the academic session 2026-2027, although registration under the Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS-UG) is already underway.According to the ECA university matrix, admission will be given in 14 categories. Theater has one of the highest seats at 123, followed by Indian classical dance with 125 seats and Indian vocal music with 109 seats.The university has also offered 72 seats for Indian dance, 71 for Hindi debate, 69 for English debate, 65 for art and photography, 63 for western dance, 56 for National Cadet Corps (NCC) girls, 54 for western music and 53 for National Service Scheme (NSS).Other categories include 44 seats for photography, 42 for yoga, 37 for Indian music (tabla), 35 for choreography, 33 for English literature and 30 for Hindi literature. Film production consists of 28 seats, harmonium 26, questions 25 and western drums 24 seats.Some special ECA courses have limited seats. Guitar (lead) has 13 seats, bass guitar 13, sculpture 10, animation eight, Indian violin five, sarod two and western flute one seat.The chair includes participation from colleges across the university. Kirori Mal College, Hindu College, Hansraj College, Miranda House, Lady Shri Ram College for Women, Sri Venkateswara College, Gargi College, Ramjas College, Shivaji College and Zakir Husain Delhi College are some of the institutions that offer seats in several ECA schools.The university has already opened the registration for undergraduates through the CSAS-UG portal.According to the university, candidates for admission under sports must have appeared for CUET (UG)-2026.“In order to be admitted to ECA and top sports seats, 25% weightage will be given to CUET (UG)-2026 score and 75% to certificate/examination/performance,” the university said in its notification.
How to apply for DU UG admission under ECA section
Applicants who wish to apply under the ECA section can follow the following steps:
- Register for undergraduate admissions through CSAS-UG 2026 portal.
- Fill the application form and select the ECA quota option.
- Select the ECA group you want to accept.
- Upload the required certificates and documents, if any.
- Complete the application process and submit the form before the deadline.
- Appearance of ECA tests or assignments, if invited by the university.
