After missing the UPSC and UPPCS final lists, Viral Sharma cracks Uttarakhand PCS and Bihar PCS with top ranks.

When Viral Sharma appeared for the UPSC Civil Services exam, he came closer to fulfilling his dream. But he missed the final selection list. The same disappointment happened when they appeared for the UPPCS exam but could not make the final list. For many who wanted it, such obstacles would have ended the journey. Viral chose another way. Viral is from Belwa Moti village in Uttar Pradesh’s Lakhimpur Kheri. He was an excellent student and passed his High School and Intermediate exams. Later he completed Mechanical Engineering from NIT Allahabad and worked in Alwar, Rajasthan, for about three years. In 2023, he quit his job to prepare for a full-time job. Without joining technical education, he studied in his hometown. In preparation, he went to various places to take the civil service exams, including Uttarakhand PCS in Haridwar, UPPCS in Prayagraj, and Bihar PCS in Patna and Kishanganj. His persistence finally paid off. Viral secured Rank 7 in Uttarakhand PCS exam and was appointed as Deputy Collector. He also secured Rank 7 in Bihar PCS for the post of Child Development Project Officer (CDPO) and Rank 16 for the post of Block Development Officer (BDO).Although this was accomplished, Viral’s preparation process remained simple. He concentrated on solving 30 to 35 previous years’ questions, preparing one-page notes for each syllabus topic, revising them regularly, and sticking to one source for each subject.Even after getting top posts in the civil service, Viral’s biggest goal is still ahead of him – UPSC. Now preparing for the UPSC Civil Services Examination 2026, Viral continues to pursue the dream that inspired him in the first place, determined to keep trying despite the obstacles he encountered along the way.
