Sunita Ahuja Says Govinda Was Worried About Joining Lock Upp 2: ‘He Was Very Worried That No One Misbehaves With His Wife’ |
Sunita Ahuja has revealed why she decided to participate in ‘Lock Upp Season 2’ despite receiving offers from several other reality shows. She said her decision was based on the confidence she had in the show’s team and her confidence that she would be looked after during the competition.Talking about the offers she got, Sunita told SCREEN, “Indeed, I was offered many reality shows – Rise And Fall, The 50, Traitors, Alliance, but I chose Lock Upp. I have no hard feelings about any other show; I thought if I did Lock Upp, I would be looked after properly. I am not afraid of anyone looking at me; I will never change who I am. From this show, people will know what Sunita Ahuja is. I am very fit mentally and physically; I know how to handle all situations. I am not afraid of tasks; I don’t lie, so I’ll make it right. But it also depends on luck.”
Govinda he was worried about his decision
Sunita also shared how husband Govinda reacted when she informed him that she is joining the reality show. She said the actor was deeply concerned for her well-being and feared someone inside the house would hurt her emotionally. She revealed, “Govinda was very tense. He said, ‘Main ne apni biwi ko phool ki tarah paala hai, usko andar kisi ne dukh de diya toh woh rone lagegi.’ (‘I have taken care of my wife like a flower; if someone hurts her inside, she will cry’.) He was very worried that no one misbehaved with his wife. Govinda is worried that no one will hurt me or make me cry. He was very concerned about why I am doing this show. But he doesn’t know that his wife is very strong, she can tolerate and fight with everyone. This is not a family show, so I will not tolerate anyone talking about my family. Govinda is very big, so no one can point a finger at him. I am his wife; I can say what I want, but no third person can talk about him.”During her appearance on the show, Sunita also revised a statement she had made earlier about wanting a son like Govinda instead of a husband like him. Explaining the context, he reflected on the ups and downs of his marriage and the strength needed to stand by a partner in difficult phases. She stated, “In love, you should be able to tolerate everything. Chi Chi had so many affairs in her life; well, heroes and heroines have such things. I think after being by Chi Chi’s side for so many years, I deserve to have a son like him.”
Response to trolls for the shooting incident
Sunita also addressed the rumors that arose after Govinda’s accidental shooting. Rejecting the allegations, he clarified that he was not even in Mumbai at the time and dismissed the claims made by social media users. She said, “If you’re listening, then listen carefully, brother. A bullet only hits someone’s knees when there’s a reason for it. I wasn’t lying about that either. Look, I’m the truth. I wasn’t even in Bombay, so many people said I was the one who did it. I was in Khatu Shyam. And I never lose sight of my goal.”
He’s confident about his journey into reality TV
Sunita maintained that she is mentally and physically ready for the demands of reality television. She believes viewers will get to see her true personality in Lock Upp 2 and said she doesn’t mind living under constant public scrutiny. She also expressed confidence in handling tasks, conflicts and unexpected situations within the program while staying true to herself. For the uninitiated, Season 2 of the show premiered on July 27.
