The Assam State School Education Board (ASSEB) has announced a major relief scheme for students who lost their academic documents in the recent floods, allowing them to get duplicate copies of important academic documents without paying anything.The project involves important documents such as diplomas, papers, entry certificates and registration documents, to ensure that students do not face educational obstacles due to a natural disaster that has already disrupted their lives.
The aid announced by the state government takes shape
The decision follows the announcement by the Chief Minister of Assam, Himanta Biswa Sarma, that students from the flood-affected districts should not bear the cost of removing the documents destroyed in the disaster.According to the agency, the benefit will be given to students from Charaideo, Sivasagar, Jorhat and Golaghat, the districts that saw the floods and major damage earlier this year. The purpose of this test is to help the students to find the necessary documents for official courses, competitive exams and jobs.
Online separate is introduced for Class 10 and Class 12 students
In a notification issued on July 29, ASSEB detailed how to apply for duplicate documents. Students who want to review High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC), Assam High Madrassa (AHM) and other Class 10 documents can submit their applications through the SEBA website online. Those studying in the Higher Secondary (HS) stream or those seeking Class 12 records must apply through the official portal of ASSEB Higher Secondary. The organization has advised the students to complete the online application process through their portals.
The agency eases the application process by eliminating police requirements
To make the process easier for flood-affected families, ASSEB has also removed the need to file police complaints and apply for duplicate documents.Instead, students only need to submit a declaration confirming that their original certificates were lost or damaged in the recent floods. The relaxation is expected to reduce paperwork and help applicants get replacement documents faster.
The purpose of the short term is to protect students from being distracted from studies
The board’s opinion clearly states that the waiver of fees is given mainly to students who have been affected by the flood and is not a permanent rule, but is a temporary measure so that students who are facing difficulties due to the crisis can be taken care of.It should be noted that academic transcripts are proof of eligibility and play an important role in a student’s career from the time of admission to higher education institutions to enrollment and application for scholarships.
