The makers have officially confirmed that ‘Gatta Kusthi 2’ will start streaming on Netflix from July 31. The announcement comes after the film completed a profitable theatrical run, earning over Rs 55 crore worldwide. The sequel, which opened on July 3, ran in theaters for three weeks and was well received by both audiences and critics. The film also marked a major milestone for Vishnu Vishal as he recently revealed that it became the first film of his career to cross the Rs 50 crore gross mark worldwide.
Family drama and comedy strike the right balance in the sequel
‘Gatta Kusthi 2’ is directed by Chella Ayyavuwho also directed the first film. The film follows the journey of See i Keerthi release the first film. The story follows Veera as she fulfills her promise to support Keerthi’s wrestling career, taking care of the family while she pursues her dreams. But parenting differences, career sacrifices and emotional misunderstandings slowly begin to erode their relationship. The film is a mix of comedy and family emotions and also emphasizes on themes like mutual respect, trust in marriage and supporting each other’s ambitions. These moments of relatability helped the sequel strike a chord with viewers across the city, as well as B and C centers.
The star-studded cast returns for the hit sequel
