In recent interviews, cast members have praised the upcoming superhero movie, sharing that it’s something completely new and the start of something unexpected.

While speaking with Entertainment Weekly, Tom Holland, Zendayaetc Jacob Battalion opened up about working on the film and how it’s the beginning of a new chapter for all of them. Holland commented during the interview that “I think the truth is that this is the beginning of something new.” Batalon further commented on how fans should expect something completely different, as “it’s a new day after all.”Amy Pascal spoke about the film, further sharing that “It’s about wanting to be anyone but who you are, and it’s about wanting to fit in and not be different and learning to understand that being different is okay and maybe cool. We definitely don’t see that. [Spider-Man: Brand New Day] as closure… It’s a beginning.” Zendaya also weighed in on the film’s changes compared to the previous three films, revealing that Destin Daniel Cretton took ‘Brand New Day’ in a different direction as director. He added during the interview that it is “probably the most intimate look peter parker that we’ve ever seen.”

Zendaya mentioned during the interview that since Cretton was much more interested in Peter Parker as a character compared to Spider Man, this movie will be very different. She added: “I also think we’ve never seen Peter so vulnerable. You know what I mean? I think they’ve been put in very difficult positions many times before, but he’s never been completely isolated and completely alone. I think that changes the whole dynamic of the movie. Destin came with such a beautiful visual language, too, because of how I wanted to tell the story and make it feel more mature without losing the essence and fun that we all know from the previous films that Jon created.”
