Bollywood actress Alia Bhatt has expressed his support for flood-hit Assam and even urged his fans and followers on social media to come together and help the state. Sharing a heartfelt message on her Instagram stories, Alia shared the scale of the crisis and asked her fans and fellow Indians to contribute to the relief efforts.In her statement, Alia wrote: “Right now, floods are affecting so many parts of our country with Assam among the hardest hit, facing an incredibly difficult time. More than 60 lives have been lost. Thousands of people have been displaced. Entire families have lost their homes, their land, their livestock and for some, even the people they love.He added: “It happens every year and it still catches us off guard. Assam needs immediate relief right now and will need support for the long road to recovery. If you’ve been wondering how you can help, I’ll be sharing some ways you can support relief efforts over the next few days, through organizations working on the ground.”His appeal comes as the flood situation in Assam continues to affect thousands of people across the state. His Bollywood co-star Salman Khan, with the help of his charity, also joined hands with an Assam Fan Club (SKFC) to start the relief campaign. The first phase focuses on distributing ready-made food packs to families in Sivasagar, with supplies flown in from Guwahati.According to the Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA), flood waters continue to affect 3,32,639 people in 622 villages in 21 revenue circles in seven districts: Sivasagar, Charaideo, Golaghat, Jorhat, Nagaon, Sonitpur and Kamrup (Metro). The floods have also severely affected agriculture, with several hectares of farmland still submerged.
