What would you do if you had an engineering degree, a corporate job worth Rs 5 lakh a year, and an opportunity to create a casual job?For most people, the answer may be simple: use it.But Mayuri Nitin Kale chose another way.Instead of moving to Pune for a corporate job, he stayed back in Nashik with his daughter, turned down the job, and started a small water vending business even though he had no business. In less than two years, the decision he made has changed his life. Today, his business is said to generate a monthly profit of around Rs 80,000, and the annual revenue is said to be close to Rs 50 lakh. His journey shows that sometimes success doesn’t come from choosing the best path, but from choosing the one that aligns with your priorities.

A professional who chose family over corporate career

Mayuri grew up in Songaon in Maharashtra’s Niphad taluka and excelled academically. He completed BE in Electronics and started his professional career.Soon after completing his engineering, he got married. After that, she became a mother, bringing new responsibilities and new priorities in her life.Eager to expand his skills, he also completed a course in electric vehicle technology. His efforts paid off when he got a corporate job with an annual package of Rs 5 lakh. There was just one problem. The job required her to move to Pune, away from her family and daughter. For many, it would be an opportunity too good to turn down. But Mayuri thought that, at that time, being close to her family was more important than just being company.

A small water house is his biggest advantage

At the same time, Mayuri’s husband said something he did not expect.Instead of looking for another job, why not run a Juice Farm outlet on College Road in NashikRs He had not yet started running a business. He had no experience in marketing. He was not from a business family. However, he decided to give the opportunity to do business. In February 2024, Mayuri took charge of the place. As soon as he began to understand the business, another problem arose. Her husband had to go to Iran to work immediately, leaving her to run the business alone.

Balancing business, home and motherhood

Days were easy. From morning until around 11 pm, Mayuri manages customers, stocks, suppliers, accounts and operations at the waterworks. When he returned home, housework and childcare awaited. There were moments of exhaustion and self-doubt.But instead of giving up, he focused on improving a little each day.He learned how to manage warehouses efficiently, understand customer preferences, improve service quality and manage time efficiently. His biggest lesson was that discipline and consistency were more important than previous experiences.

Quality and customer loyalty became his greatest strength

Instead of competing on price, Mayuri decided to differentiate itself in two ways.He focused on all the drinks he was served. He also interacted personally with customers, explaining the health benefits of the new juices and making sure they had a good experience. Many customers who initially came in out of curiosity became regular visitors.Word of mouth gradually helped the business grow. With the increase in depreciation came higher sales, better profits and greater confidence.

From one place to big business dreams

Within a few months, Mayuri began to see positive things about money.Today, his juice business is said to generate around Rs 80,000 in monthly profit, while the annual revenue is expected to be close to Rs 50 lakh. The business has also created jobs for others, with staff helping to run the day-to-day operations.Instead of stopping there, Mayuri has already expanded her business journey by becoming a partner in another business, showing that one successful business can often be the foundation of many others.

His main message is not about business—it’s about courage

Looking back, Mayuri believes that turning down a corporate job was one of the most important decisions of her life. They often say that doing business does not require many years or a lot of money. All it really takes is the courage to start. Her advice to aspiring entrepreneurs, especially women, is simple: don’t let fear decide your future.Today, an engineering graduate who was once worried about rejecting a permanent job, has created something that he calls his own.His story is a reminder that success doesn’t always come from climbing companies. Sometimes, it starts with a small shop, unwavering determination and the courage to believe in yourself.Disclaimer: This article is based on publicly available interviews, reports and information shared about Mayuri Nitin Kale and his entrepreneurial journey.
