Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu VijayThe latest release ‘Jana Nayagan’ faced an unexpected problem during its screening at a theater in Chennai on Sunday. Several screenings were temporarily delayed, stopped or canceled after children were found inside the auditorium in an “A” rated film.
The screening of ‘Jana Nayagan’ was halted at the mall
As ‘Jana Nayagan’ has received ‘A’ certificate from CBFC, as per certification norms, only adults can watch the film in theaters. However, an incident was reported to have happened during the 9:25 show at PVR Cinemas, Ampa Mall. According to a post shared by a fan present at the time, the screening of the film was stopped around 9:35 a.m. after police officers entered the auditorium. They reportedly noticed that several families had brought children to the A-rated show.Sharing the video from inside the theatre, the user added: “The show was stopped for almost an hour while the parents with children were asked to leave. There was very little communication during the delay and the audience was left waiting. Eventually the management announced a refund and the screening resumed after the parents with children had left. The whole situation could have been handled much better.”
Similar incidents were reported across Chennai
In addition to this, a report in India Today suggested that some more screenings at different venues were delayed while others were canceled after theater staff found children below 18 years of age in the screening hall.
