Sean “Diddy” Combs, who is serving time in prison, is back in the headlines, after he got into an altercation with a fellow inmate.According to the latest reports, the music star was placed in solitary confinement after a “violent” confrontation with another inmate at the Federal Correctional Institution (FCI) Fort Dix in New Jersey earlier this week. TMZ reports that the incident began after an inmate allegedly insulted the music mogul, which quickly turned into a physical fight.

Diddy involved in a clash with the inmate

Sources told the outlet that the two men pushed each other and exchanged blows before prison staff intervened and separated the two men. The report states that Combs “held his own” during the fight before being taken into solitary confinement and thrown “into the hole.”TMZ further reports that the altercation could have consequences beyond disciplinary action. Combs, who is currently scheduled to be released in February 2028. However, if prison officials determine he broke the rules, it could affect those credits.

Will Diddy’s jail time be affected by the crash?

Howard Robertson, the former warden at New York City’s Rikers Island, told TMZ that prison officials will investigate and that if Combs is found to have violated prison regulations, it could negatively affect his record and potentially reduce the good behavior credits that contribute to his current release date.

About Diddy’s prison sentence

Combs was sentenced to 50 months in prison in October 2025 following his federal trial earlier that year. He has already received credit for the time he spent in pre-sentence custody. The Bad Boy Records founder was acquitted of the most serious charges of sex trafficking and extortion, but was convicted of lesser federal charges.
