Over the last few days, after returning from the UK, Meghan Markle, Prince Harry and their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, have been enjoying some time away from their everyday lives. The family of four were spotted in Portugal enjoying the sunny beaches together, and the photos sent everyone back to the family vacation the Duke of Sussex used to spend with his mother, Princess Diana. Along with Portugal, the family also traveled around the UK and visited Princess Diana’s childhood home in Althorp.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Portugal getaway resembles days spent on holiday with Princess Diana
Earlier this week, the Duchess of Sussex shared a series of photos from her beach holiday in Portugal, which many believed resembled popular photos of Princess Diana from her family holiday in 1993. Markle had shared photos of the family at the beach, in which she watched over her husband and children as they played and ran around in the water.The family photos share an uncanny resemblance to Princess Diana’s 1993 vacation, when she, along with Prince Harry and Prince William, who were then mere children, enjoyed the waters off the Caribbean island of Nevis. Princess Diana was known for her simple and playful nature, and was often photographed and seen on holiday with her family.In another photo from 1990, the Princess of Wales vacationed in the British Virgin Islands with her children and friends. Some photos showed her having fun with her children; one showed her allowing her children and friends to bury her in the sand.

Many other photos from Meghan and Prince Harry’s holiday showed examples of the couple having fun with their two children. In one of the photos, the Duke of Sussex threw his daughter in the air while they were in the pool as the camera captured the moment just seconds before she fell into the water. Another photograph, possibly taken at Althorp, also showed a glimpse of Harry’s uncle, Charles Spencer, and his wife, Cat Jarman.Another photo taken by Markle showed Lilibet, Archie and Harry walking around the green estate. As Lilibet walked in front of her mother, the photos showed Prince Harry and Archie walking a little ahead, holding flowers.During their visit to Althorp, the family of four were reported to have visited Princess Diana’s final resting place. The princess was buried in one of the island’s parks, specifically in the center of an ornamental lake known as the Round Oval.Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s visit to the UK was also fruitful as King Charles and Queen Camilla met Archie and Lilibet for the first time in four years.
