Amaal Mallik accuses Tanishk Bagchi of stealing the song

Music composer Amaal Mallik has launched a scathing attack on the composer and singer Tanishk Bagchi accusing him of copying music, taking credit for other people’s work and mistreating female singers. This comes after Bagchi accused YRF of not clearing his dues after ‘Saiyaara’. Although Amaal did not mention Bagchi by name in his posts, he repeatedly referred to him as “Mr Remix & Destroyer of Originals” and later shared Bagchi’s photograph while calling him the “Zazooo of the music industry”, claiming that he has been “destroying lives”.The social media outburst came soon after Bagchi claimed that he had not received the remaining royalty payments for the song Saiyaara. Referring to the controversy, Amaal accused him of relying on paid advertising while presenting a different face in private than in public. In one of his X posts, Amaal wrote, “Dear Mr. Remix and Destroyer of Originals.. 10 years too late but I will show the world your aukaad (stature) 🙂 You don’t deserve my mention also after all that has gone down so please mera 2017-18 ka photos leke articles like likhwana bandh kar (please stop posting my articles). He continued, “Lala Paid PR ka paisa tum label se kama chuke ho, but kharach galat jagah kar rahe ho. Phir mujhe har saal call karke, ja mere manager @mourjo ke saamne mera bhai banne ka dhong kyu karta hai re tu (Brother, you have earned a lot of money through PR, but you have spent all the money in wrong places. why do you still do this to my brother every year, be it on phone calls or in front of me manager)?Amaal also alleged that Bagchi secured Saiyaara by taking someone else’s composition. Referring to the film, he wrote, “If I talk about how you packaged the film #Saiyaara and stole the song right from under the nose of Faheem Abdullah and Arsalan Nizami to make it Mohit Suri take you to the movie, then you’ll know (sic).”The composer made serious allegations about Bagchi’s alleged behavior towards female singers and referred to a social media post which he said was removed after filmmaker Mohit Suri intervened. He wrote, “I should mention what you have done to female singers and their lives, Me too nahi, Me Three ho jaayega tujh par (It won’t just be a MeToo situation for you; it will escalate to MeThree) (sic).”Amaal also questioned Bagchi’s recent stance on royalty payments, claiming that he had earlier approached him for work due to financial difficulties. He alleged that despite being advised not to rely on recreated versions of songs like Aashiq Banaya Aapne and Masakali, Bagchi continued to make remakes to make quick bucks. Defending Yash Raj FilmsAmaal described the studio as a professional production house following legal processes and alleged that Mohit Suri had intervened to ensure that Bagchi’s “small post” against the banner was removed.Continuing his criticism, Amaal accused Bagchi of copying Pakistani songs and the work of other musicians, while questioning why he was now targeted at YRF despite the studio turning his “copied song #Saiyaara” into what he described as a global anthem. He further alleged that Saiyaara had been lifted from Humnawa Mere, adding that the singer Jubin Nautiyal and composer Rocky Khanna chose not to respond out of respect, especially since Nautiyal had sung Barbaad for the film and had previously collaborated on Raataan Lambiyan.Amaal also alleged that Bagchi often talks negatively about Bhushan Kumar and T-Series. His latest comments come amid his recent claims that paid PR campaigns have been orchestrated against him and the remake of Yeh Awarapan, which he has composed for Emraan Hashmi’s upcoming film Awarapan 2.At the time of writing, Tanishk Bagchi has not publicly responded to Amaal Mallik’s latest allegations.
