‘Jana Nayagan’ crosses Rs 49 crore gross in India
According to Sacnilk Early Estimates, “Jana Nayagan” earned Rs 2.29 crore nett in India on Day 2 as of last update. The film is currently playing in 4,027 shows across the country. With this opening figure, the film has now collected Rs 43.29 crore (net index) and Rs 50.97 crore (gross India). The final figures of Day 2 are expected to increase significantly as night and night show collections are added. On its opening day, the film collected Rs 41 crore nett in India and Rs 78.27 crore gross worldwide, giving it one of Vijay’s strongest openings.
Tamil Nadu remains the biggest market for Vijay’s films
The film’s opening day performance was led by Tamil Nadu, contributing nearly Rs 24 crore to the domestic gross collections. Karnataka followed with Rs 11.25 crore, while Kerala added Rs 5.52 crore. Andhra Pradesh and Telangana accounted for Rs 4 crore, with the other markets contributing the rest. The Tamil version led the collections with Rs 36.50 crore nett, and the Telugu and Hindi versions collected Rs 2.75 crore and Rs 1.75 crore respectively. The huge response in Tamil Nadu along with encouraging overseas collections have allowed ‘Jana Nayagan’ to maintain its strong performance at the box office.

Although the film received mostly negative reviews from critics, the audience has supported it immensely.
