DU UG Admission 2026: Over 63,700 seats filled in CSAS Round I, Round II will begin on July 25
Delhi University has completed the first round of CSAS graduate admissions for 2026-2027, where 63,756 seats were successfully filled. While 15,265 candidates confirmed that they accepted by freezing the seats that were given to them, 48,153 chose to upgrade. The second round of distribution will begin on July 25, before the academic session begins on July 28.

Delhi University (DU) has successfully completed the first batch of undergraduate admissions under the Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS) for the academic session 2026-27. The university has filled 63,756 seats for its graduates in the opening round, with thousands opting to cancel their allotted seats or seeking promotion to the next round of counselling.With the first round now, the university has announced that the second round of seat allotment will begin on July 25, 2026. Candidates are advised to regularly check the University of Delhi admissions portal and their CSAS dashboard for updates.

More than 63,700 seats were provided in the first phase

According to the university, 63,756 seats have been filled during the first admission under the CSAS portal.Among those accepted:

  • 15,265 applicants chose the ‘Off’ option, confirming their allotted place and opting not to participate in further counselling.
  • 48,153 applicants chose the ‘Upgrade’ option, indicating that they want to be considered for a higher program or college for the next round.

The number of transfer requests shows that many students are looking for their favorite colleges or courses while they are still in the process of being accepted.

Round II admission will start on July 25

Delhi University has confirmed that Round II of the CSAS undergraduate admissions process will begin on July 25, 2026.Aspirants for promoted seats or those who failed to get admission in the first round should keep a close eye on their dashboard to get seat allotment results and admission related deadlines.The university has encouraged applicants to be updated through the official website to avoid missing announcements or deadlines.

The academic session will begin on July 28

In addition to the above, it was announced that the commencement of the academic year 2026-27 will take place from 28 July 2026.Students who have completed their admissions must join their respective colleges as per the notification of the institution. Since the new academic year is supposed to start immediately after the end of the second part of the division, it is recommended that the students should successfully complete their assignments within that period.
