‘Meet the new face of Gotham’, DC Studios has released the long-awaited trailer for its new horror thriller, ‘Clayface’, starring Tom Rhys Harries.The film will see him play the shape-shifting villain Clayface, whose real name is Matt Hagen. He begins as a struggling actor whose face is disfigured and then undergoes a scientific transformation that turns his body completely into clay.The reveal comes ahead of this week’s Comic-Con, where the James Watkins-directed pic is expected to show off more of its wares.According to reports, the movie about the famous Batman villain is between the two Batman movies directed by DC Studios’ Matt Reeves – 2022’s ‘The Batman’ and 2028’s ‘The Batman Part II’, both starring. Robert Pattinson like the Caped Crusader. It comes after the successful launch of the HBO Max series ‘The Penguin’, set in the same universe.

The film revolves around “Matt Hagen’s meteoric rise from Gotham street kid to Hollywood star is tragically cut short when the actions of a local crime boss leave him horribly disfigured. Abandoned by his team and with nothing left, Matt seeks a cutting-edge treatment that will miraculously return him to his old self…but it also unexpectedly affects his grip on reality, spiraling him down a destructive path of all-consuming revenge,” according to the synopsis.

James Gunn Introduces Tom Rhys Harries as ‘Clayface’
The announcement of the casting of Tom Rhys Harries was made by DC Studios head James Gunn, who shared in a post on social media: “After a long and incredibly thorough search, we finally have our DCU Clayface in @tomrhysharries. Both Matt Reeves and I are blown away by this guy, and we can’t wait for this movie, directed and written by James Walanat, to see him.”

Clayface first appeared in a 1940 issue of “Detective Comics” and various people have taken on the moniker to battle Batman through countless comics and various animated shows. He has appeared on live television in episodes of “Gotham,” “Pennyworth” and “Birds of Prey,” as well as animated shows such as “Harley Quinn,” “Batman: The Brave and the Bold,” “Young Justice,” “Batman: Caped Crusader” and more.
