New Delhi: The Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) on Tuesday passed a resolution condemning the alleged case against students and members of the judiciary, saying the use of force against peaceful protesters was “highly disturbing” and “unacceptable in a democratic society.”“The order, dated July 22, 2026, called for a timely, impartial and timely investigation into the matter. The organization also sought action against those responsible, medical assistance to the injured and measures to prevent similar incidents in the future.The judgment opposes the use of forceIn its decision, the SCBA said it “strongly condemns the lathi charge against innocent students, which resulted in grievous injuries to several students.” It added that law enforcement personnel, including SCBA members, were also injured in the incident.The organization said, “Excessive and arbitrary use of force against peaceful students and members of the Bar is deeply disturbing and unacceptable in a democratic society.”SCBA requires inquiry and responseThe resolution urged the authorities to “promptly, impartially and in a timely manner investigate the incident, identify those responsible for the excessive use of force, and take appropriate action in accordance with the law.”SCBA also requested the authorities to ensure proper medical care and assistance to all the injured students and members of the law enforcement.In addition, the organization has urged the government authorities to take action to prevent such incidents from happening again.The decision said the SCBA stands in solidarity with those injured in the incident.“The Association stands in solidarity with all those who have been injured and reiterates its commitment to the protection of legal rights, human dignity and the rule of law,” he said.
