Speaking during an Instagram Live session held in connection with the release of his latest film ‘Varavu’, the actor claimed that a Malaysian actor and his wife have launched a PR campaign against him. Without naming anyone, Joju alleged that the campaign was deliberately aimed at damaging his image. He also suggested that these practices are not limited to an individual or a family in the industry.According to the actor, paid advertising campaigns have become increasingly common in Malayalam cinema. However, he was unable to identify any of the people he was referring to.

According to a report by Filmibeat, the film grossed around Rs 51 lakh in India on its opening day.
