After winning seven Golden Globes and six Academy Awards, including Best Director and Best Cinematography, ‘La La Land’ will return to theaters from Sunday, August 16, 2026. “A little tweak,” read the caption, announcing the anniversary celebration on the silver screen. This time, the violet faded and Ryan Gosling’s hand saw the beam of light. In 2024, the Academy Award-winning actor expressed that the poster continued to haunt him even after the film’s inspiring success. “We’re dancing, Emma and I, and I didn’t know that would become the movie poster. We’re supposed to have our hands up and I thought it would be cool to put my hand up. [more flat] even though everyone told me it wasn’t great. I was sure it was cooler,” he said during an interview with The Wall Street Journal. Calling the film ‘La La Hand’, the actor stated: “Now when I watch it, and I have to watch it all the time, you know what would have been so cool… [the intended pose]. It just killed the energy that way. I call it La La Hand.”
