New Delhi: The United Doctors Front (UDF) has submitted a delegation to the President of India and the Prime Minister to replace the National Testing Agency (NTA) with an independent National Examination Authority established by an Act of Parliament. The organization said that the decision reiterates what it previously submitted to the parliamentary standing committee and the issues that were discussed in the cases that are expected to be judged by the high court.The stand, which took place on July 21, 2026, was also known to the Minister of Health and Family Welfare and Education, the Secretary to the Prime Minister, the Secretary of the Health and Education ministries, and the Commissioner of Police, Delhi. The UDF said the petition is independent of any party or protest group and is aimed at promoting the Indian exam and protecting the interests of students.Standing requires a change in the testIn its letter, the UDF said that confidence in the integrity of medical examinations in the country is very important for medical education in the country. It noted that long-term uncertainty surrounding the assessment process affects healthcare candidates and public confidence in healthcare education systems.The organization said that it had already submitted a proposal to change the examination to the parliamentary committee on education, women, children, youth and sports. It also referred to the pending Public Interest Litigation in the Supreme Court seeking detailed reforms, including the repeal of the existing NTA and the establishment of an independent authority through parliamentary legislation.Five major requests have been made to the governmentThe representation calls on the Government of India to consider abolishing the NTA and the National Examination Authority to ensure parliamentary oversight, institutional accountability and transparency.It also seeks protection for medical professionals, medical students, ambulance workers and medical volunteers who provide emergency care at public gatherings. The UDF has called for a proper and timely discussion with the representatives of the candidates for NEET, evaluation of complaints in accordance with established legal procedures, and detailed changes in institutions aimed at restoring fairness, accountability and public confidence in the national entrance examination.Apply for a neutral and neutral medical treatmentThe organization said the representation is driven by public concerns and public interest. While recognizing the legal right to peaceful protest, it called on students, government officials and law enforcement agencies to exercise restraint and resolve their grievances through dialogue and legal mechanisms.The UDF also emphasized that the principle of neutrality in the medical field should be respected, allowing doctors, medical students, ambulance workers and medical workers to carry out emergency operations without interference. The organization said that their representation is to strengthen the examination system and to protect the interests of students and the medical profession.
