The release date of

The creators ofRamayana‘ released a first look at the film’s trailer to a select audience, ahead of its July 24 world premiere. The clip, which was screened for members of the media, directors and film industry insiders, has been receiving overwhelmingly positive reviews on social media, with filmmakers such as Siddharth Anand and Atlee hailing the clip as “Spectacular”.However, it was another review of the trailer that has set tongues wagging.

‘Ramayana’ Release Date Revealed?

Posting the trailer review, @idlebrainjeevi wrote, “Watched the trailer of #Ramayana in 3D at Bharat Mandapam, Delhi a couple of days ago. The trailer will be released to the public on 24th July. The casting is spot on, and the color palette and overall visual identity feels authentically Indian. Spectacular trailer.” Ranbir Kapoor is perfect as Lord Rama, while Yash he is fantastic as Ravana. Sai Pallavi delivers an elegant and convincing portrayal of Sita. The visuals, music and visual effects are truly world-class.” However, it was the final line, “I can’t wait for the film to hit theaters on November 8,” that raised eyebrows. It is still unclear whether the said date is the official release date of the film, which is slated to hit theaters worldwide on the Diwali festival. This also happens to be the first hint that the makers will go ahead with a November release, rather than a “late October release” as Yash hinted at earlier this year while promoting the film at Cinema Con.The announcement sets up a high-profile box office clash with Takashi Yamazaki’s ‘Godzilla: Minus Zero’, which is slated for a global release on November 6, 2026, just two days before ‘Ramayana’.

‘Ramayana’ will collide with ‘Godzilla: Minus Zero’

If the post about the November release is true, then it puts ‘Ramayana’ alongside another major world event film – ‘Godzilla: Minus Zero’. Directed by Academy Award winner Takashi Yamazaki, the film will open in theaters and IMAX worldwide on November 6, 2026. The sequel follows the critically acclaimed “Godzilla Minus One” and is the first Japanese Godzilla film shot entirely for IMAX.The film has also been confirmed for a US theatrical release on November 6, ensuring that it will be released in major international markets right before ‘Ramayana’. Although the two films belong to different genres, their release dates will see them compete for premium screens, such as IMAX and other large-format auditoriums, in various territories. Both the films are among the most anticipated releases of 2026. While ‘Ramayana’ will be the first of a two-part epic, ‘Godzilla’ is said to be the final film in the franchise. The film’s release also follows the worldwide success of its predecessor, which became the highest-grossing Japanese live-action film in North America and won the Academy Award for Best Visual Effects.
