The film, which is now entering its fourth week in theaters, saw a sharp drop in collections on Friday, but thankfully picked up some business over the weekend. This coincided with the release of Christopher Nolan’s highly anticipated epic ‘The Odyssey’, which emerged as the new favorite among Indian audiences.

According to Sacnilk, “Welcome To The Jungle” collected around 38 lakh nett on its 23rd day, playing approximately 719 shows across the country. With this addition, the film’s total net collection in India has reached an estimated Rs 132.43 crore, while its gross earnings are approximately Rs 157.34 crore.

The film opened on a strong note, earning close to Rs 93 crore in its first week alone. But that initial momentum slowed in the weeks that followed. According to the report, the second week collections took a big hit, falling around Rs 31.90 crore, while the third week saw the earnings fall further in single digits to just Rs 6.80 crore. It now enters its fourth weekend with a minimum of Rs 38 lakh.
‘Welcome To The Jungle’ faces competition from ‘The odyssey ‘
The slowdown in the film’s box office seems linked to the release of Christopher Nolan’s ‘The Odyssey’, which hit Indian screens in English, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu. The Hollywood epic opened strongly, raking in around Rs 20.76 crore gross and around Rs 17.40 crore nett on the first day. High occupancy in IMAX and other premium formats helped the film dominate multiplexes and premium screens, attracting crowds that would otherwise have chosen homegrown films.
