Prolific Bollywood star Sanjay Dutt recently sat down with Dr. D Nageshwar Reddy of AIG Hospitals, where he talked about what his time in jail taught him. The topic came up while the host and guest were talking about Sanjay Dutt’s fame ‘jadu ki jhappi’ and the value of sorry and thank you. These two simple terms keep a person grounded, noted Dr. Reddy. Along with his statement, Sanjay Dutt spoke about the importance of forgiveness.Recalling his time behind bars, he shared, “I’ve also learned that during my prison term. I’ve learned to forgive.”“A hawaldar (constable) taught me this. He told me, ‘Learn to forgive people and you will grow more in your life,'” said the ‘Vaastav’ actor.He recounted how the officer told him that regardless of the people who hurt him, he had to practice forgiveness. The actor added that while it sounds like a noble thought, it’s easier said than done. “But it’s very difficult to do,” he admitted.“This is the most important thing,” he concluded.
When Sanjay Dutt said jail broke his ego
In another media interaction, Dutt spoke more about his time in jail. “It shattered my ego,” he told IANS, before adding, “My days of confinement have been nothing short of a rollercoaster ride. On the bright side, it has taught me a lot and made me a better person.”

Sanjay Dutt wished his father was alive to see him free
Sanjay Dutt was released from prison in 2016, a decade after the death of his father Sunil Dutt. Opening up about the same during her interaction with the said publication, she shared, “The day I was released after the final verdict, it was the happiest moment of my life. I missed my father (Sunil Dutt). I wish he was alive to see me free. He would have been the happiest person.”He gave the message that family is the greatest strength and should never be taken for granted.
