The filmmaker’s much-anticipated mythological epic, slated to hit theaters on July 17, has witnessed an exceptional start at the box office with advance booking reports suggesting that the film is well on its way to a gross collection of over Rs 20 crore on its opening day, with trade estimates suggesting that the collections could even match the current trend.

‘The Odyssey’ crosses Rs 10 crore in advance bookings

With just hours to go for its grand debut, the film has already sold tickets worth around Rs 10 crore gross, including blocked seats, for its opening day, reported Sacnilk. Advance booking numbers have made the film one of the biggest Hollywood releases of the year in India.The film has witnessed particularly strong demand at IMAX, 4DX and other premium large format (PLF) screens, where ticket rates, even for matinee shows, are between Rs 700 and Rs 2,800. Some theaters have even reported sold-out shows, while others fill up quickly.
