With the clock ticking down to the release of the highly anticipated trailer for ‘Ramayana‘, a new update has left fans excited.The film which will release its first official trailer in a matter of days has already been certified by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). As per CBFC certificate, ‘Ramayana’, starring Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi and Yash in the lead roles will reportedly have two trailers instead of a single clip.

According to the certificate, the film’s trailer received a ‘U’ (Universal) certificate on July 15, making it suitable for audiences of all age groups, from children to adults. Interestingly, the trailer is significantly longer than most other theatrical previews.

The CBFC website currently features two versions of the trailer. While one trailer, titled ‘Trailer – Ramayana 3D’, is 4 minutes and 15 seconds long, the other, titled ‘Theatrical Trailer – Ramayana 3D’, is exactly 4 minutes long. It remains to be seen if the one that premieres online will give fans an extra 15 seconds of footage, or if it will be reserved for viewers to watch on the big screens.

The upcoming trailers mark the film’s next big promotional asset. The first teaser video for the film was released on July 3, 2025, introducing audiences to the ambitious mythological epic. The makers, on April 2, released the ‘Rama First Look’, coinciding with the festival of Hanuman Jayanti. This character trailer introduced the audience to Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama and also teased the introduction of Yash as the antagonist, Ravana. The clip ran for 2 minutes and 38 seconds and also received a ‘U’ certificate from the CBFC.

The trailer’s CBFC certification comes just days after the makers announced in a social media post from their official handle, saying, “From Bharat to the world, Ramayana trailer releases worldwide on 24th July 2026.”The team released a statement saying, “For thousands of years, the Ramayana has inspired generations through its timeless ideals of dharma, marriage, courage and compassion. Now, a new journey begins. One of the greatest civilizational epics of Bharat, brought to the world on a scale never before attempted in Indian cinema.”
