The loss affected him so deeply that he no longer found joy or purpose in pursuing a career in film. Seeking solace, he left Mumbai and traveled to Rishikesh without any plans for his future. Speaking about one of the most difficult periods in his life, the actor revealed in a conversation with Indian Express that his father’s death left him emotionally shattered. He shared, “I was suffering from a serious illness. The doctors had removed 15 liters of pus from my stomach and right after I was cured, I lost my father. He had begun to lose his life. So I went to Rishikesh and started making tortillas in a dhaba near the Ganga bank. The dhaba owner told me that I should wash 50 cups a day and I will get 150 rupees. But then I thought I needed money to survive,” he had said.

Sanjay Mishra recalls his last conversation with his father
The ‘Dhamaal 4’ actor also spoke about how he once thought of almost giving up on life during a serious health issue that almost changed his perception of life. “I was supposed to die,” he said. He further added that doctors had warned his family that their chances of survival are too low if the operation is not successful.Shortly after recovering from surgery, his father died a few days after being released from the hospital. Mishra recalled one of their last conversations that still tingled his heart and mind. “I said to my father, ‘How can you have a three-day-old chicken?’ and he said to me, ‘Tumhari nasihat ki zaroorat nahin Hai (I don’t need your advice).’ Those were my father’s last words to me,” she shared. The pain was compounded when Mishra later discovered a painful note in his father’s diary after his death. He revealed that his father was humiliated after the actor lost his temper with fans outside a cinema hall while they were watching ‘Aloo Chaat’.
