They’ve been very respectful of me and understanding that my kids need privacy.” He also commented that he often invites photographers to promotional events and appreciates the role they play in helping movies and shows reach audiences.“I’ve been open about the same. When I’m shooting for ‘Double Date,’ I invite the popes and they show up. They help us get our show out there.”

At a recent event in Mumbai, Neha publicly objected to photographers capturing what she described as inappropriate ‘after shots’. In the film, she plays Lakshi, the mother of a young footballer from Kerala.Speaking about the role, the actor said that becoming a mother in real life helped her connect with the emotional depth needed for the character.“Being a mother helped prepare me for this role because I had to deal with a lot of maternal pain as a character. So whether it’s the loss, the departure, the longing, all of that, the unfulfilled dreams, and then I think if this movie had been offered to me seven years ago when I wasn’t a mother, I don’t think I would have been able to give it so many layers.”She added that motherhood had fundamentally changed her understanding of grief and emotional loss.“Whereas once you become a mother, it completely changes. It’s because then the loss and the pain, you know, hits you to the core to the point where you almost go numb. So there’s a part of me that had to be portrayed.”

’52 Blue’ premiered as the opening film at the London Indian Film Festival on July 10. The film stars Neha Dhupia opposite Adil Hussain and follows the journey of a young footballer from Kerala and his family. While the film is currently being screened at international film festivals, the Indian release date is yet to be announced.
